SAGADA, SPIRIT’S REFUGE
061905

In this existence, few things
may perhaps be so wonderful
As Sagada painted in God’s hands.
As sparkling early morning dew
glints and catches my stare, a jewel
concealed under the tranquil flora
unfolds thru the mighty daybreak.

The smell of pine and grandiose trees
donning calm olive- stretching to heaven,
almost taking flight.
As cool, placid breeze
stroking the skin of my face,
bless me with Kabunian’s grace.

Across the lush hillsides,
My inner self settles- awed by flawlessness,
I swelled in ambition.
Longing.
Craving.
Desiring.
For everything.
Dreams escalate
Feeling the granules of life
Dissolve in perfection,
Falling in the right places.

Fearlessly, over the mountain crest
Come death, should be here will I rest?
For
not
so
many
things
could
ever
touch
this.
Not so many could be under its spell-
the pure, fascinating splendor.
The untainted mesmerizing
state of bliss.
Except maybe
The humble moon’s motherly embrace
And the sun’s sweet loom
Over the
Sagada Daisies,
In summer bloom.
